Check that your hreflang tags reference each other (return tags), that codes are valid and that x-default and self-reference are in place. Sitemap and Pasted list modes: pure reciprocity audit, without crawling each page.
The 3 modes
- Single URL: one page and its alternates (capped).
- Sitemap: audits the hreflang declared in an XML sitemap (few requests).
- Pasted list: paste your declarations (source, code, target), zero request. Ideal when the site blocks bots or pages are JS-rendered.
What the tool detects
- Missing return tag (reciprocity broken).
- Invalid or duplicate BCP-47 codes, relative URLs.
- Missing/multiple x-default and missing self-reference.
